Our stories

Mothering Sunday at Manorhey was lovely, we enjoyed an afternoon tea with cakes, sandwiches and scones with cream and jam and tea served in china. All mums here and including Grandmas received beautiful cards, gifts and flowers which really did make their day special. 

As part of our monthly visits to different countries we decided to go to Mexico. We decorated our home ready for a Mexico themed fun-filled day which we ended with a fiesta. We dressed in sombreros and ponchos and enjoyed tacos and nachos with cheese, salsa and sour cream dips.

To celebrate St David's Day we filled Riverview with daffodils and enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea. In the words of St David, "Be joyful, keep the faith and do the little things that you have heard and seen me do."

Celebrating Mother's Day with afternoon tea for our 4 special mums.

We had a film afternoon. The residents thoroughly enjoyed a film from their past and their theatre treats. 

A wonderful day had by all at Kents Hill Care Home; flower arranging was one of the activities for Mothers Day.  Some fantastic displays/ centre pieces to enjoy.

Today we had a go at making bread in a bag. We had great fun with the dough squeezing and trying to get it all to come together. Took a while but residents did enjoy.  We chatted about home baking and all the things they used to bake at home.

Our residents at Buckingham House have been busy preparing our Sanctuary - Demebtia Garden. We've made the most of the sunny day to repot some of our beautiful flowering places. 

To celebrate British Pie week here at Manorhey we prepped and baked our favourite pies including chicken and leek, cheese and onion and a meat pie. We must say they were lovely and we really enjoyed them, cheese and onion was the chosen favourite of the day. 

We love celebrating birthdays at Acorn House and it's just as well as we have five to celebrate this month, everyone liked the idea of this one and chocolate muffins are a favourite of Kathleen's whose birthday it is today. 

We've had a heart warming month here at Bowerfield House. We held a coffee morning for World Cancer Day, raising money for the Beechwood Cancer Care Centre in Stockport. We enjoyed a fabulous Chinese meal cooked in house by our chef for Chinese New Year.

Soon as the weather picked up we were out in the garden playing some ball. We can't wait for the sun to fully come out, roll on spring! 

We had a lovely time with our reminiscence puzzles, lots of smiles and laughter. We are looking forward to our next instalment.
