I was working for a company called care base as a service engineer traveling the country working in care homes in England, Ireland, and Scotland. I was informed by a friend that Rosedale was looking for a Maintenance Manager and decided to apply as I was sick of the travelling up to 40,000 miles a year and staying away from home 4 days a week. I came for the interview was offered and I accepted.
I have always been a DIY person during my career. Having bought and sold many properties over the years. I developed my electrical, plumbing and wood working skills which I have put to good use in my years as maintenance man at Rosedale.
I have total support from my manager when needed. My manager is aware of my capabilities, and I’m left to get on with my job.
We at Rosedale are a very multi-cultural work force and it is a very happy place to work as we all try to do our best for the residents.
No two days are the same in Rosedale and sometimes doing the smallest of things can make a big difference to someone’s wellbeing.
Knowing that I am appreciated by residents and staff when I go the extra mile to resolve an issue whether it’s coming in at 2 am to sort a faulty alarm or something as simple as changing a lightbulb in a residents bedroom is the most rewarding part of the job.
