Moving into a care home can be daunting

Rest assured, our care team are here to make sure that making the move is as easy as possible for you and your loved one. If you still need reassurance, here are some stories from our residents, their families and our care team.

We enjoyed a lovely crafting session making Chinese Lanterns to celebrate the year of the Tiger. We hung the lanterns up in our rooms and around the dining room where we enjoyed a Chinese banquet for dinner.

We love games day at The Moors and had so much fun with play your card right and bowling lots of fun and laughter was had by all. We can’t wait to welcome you into the home when COVID allows to have a game of Play Your Cards Right as there are lots of shouts of higher, lower, stick.

Whisky tasting, sea shanty and singing for burns night here at The Moors. We had a lovely day leading up to the Burns Day supper with haggis, neeps and tatties prepared by our fabulous Chef’s at the home and enjoyed cups of tea and Shortbread biscuits during the day.

An Oaklands resident skilfully crafted a New Year wreath in January to mark the turn of the year. She used fresh greenery from the Oakland’s gardens and some Christmas baubles.

Residents recently spent an hour taking part in the National Bird Watch scheme, we had three residents watching from the lounge and three watching from their rooms.
