Staff at Cavendish Court celebrated Valentine’s day with residents and attended work in their Pyjamas. A great atmosphere and fun had by all.

Garden Hill residents celebrate in style at 1940's themed party
We had a great time on 20th January hosting a 1940's party. We got dressed up and had our hair done by our activities coordinator Stacey Adams. We had old songs playing on the record player, arts and crafts and food tasting from back in the day.
We had Battenburg cakes and fruit scones for their afternoon tea snack and then evening meal we had Woolton Pie for dinner with jam roly poly for dessert.

Care Home residents at Barnes Court are knitting for the local health centre
Barnes Court Care Home of Wycliffe Road, High Barnes love being part of the community and have launched an initiative in the home to make baby blankets for the Young Mum and Baby Centre based at Hendon Health Centre. Sue Hutchinson, Activity Coordinator at Barnes Court has organised a weekly activity for all residents to come along and learn how to knit or stitch the squares together and we even have a few of our male residents taking part in the activity. Harrogate Care Home celebrates Burns Night
We had a great day celebrating Burns Night at Belmont House Care Home. The day started off with entertainment from Tony Cerexhe who sang his Scottish Ballads. The residents accompanied him with musical instruments and dancing.
Our Catering Team served a wonderful tea of haggis, tatties and neeps keeping in with the Burns theme. Here is Steve, our Head Chef serving one of our residents at the home.

Opening of our new tuck shop at Belmont House
Belmont House Care Home on High Street, Starbeck in Harrogate are delighted to announce the opening of our new residents’ tuck shop. Our shop was opened in the memory of residents at Belmont House who lived with us over a period of 5 years. Husband and Wife both loved the home so much that after his wife passed away whilst he was still at the home, he donated a sum of money to the home to enable something to be purchased in their memory.

Dude the Pony visits Windmill Court
At Windmill Court we are very lucky to have a regular visitor in Dude the rescue pony. Dude lives at the HUGS Foundation and takes his regular visits in his stride.

Spreading the Christmas Cheer at Windmill Court
Rudolph and his friends were a little bit busy over Christmas and so he sent Little Man, an Alpaca Reindeer to spread festive cheer to residents at Windmill Court Care Home in Cornwall.
Zoolab visit Willow Bank
On Wednesday 5th February, Zoolab came to visit the residents at Wilow Bank. Ella from Zoolab had brought along some giant snails, some millipedes, two rats and a snake. The residents were very enthusiastic about seeing the animals, though some just liked to look while others enjoyed the opportunity to handle them. We all agreed that the little rat was very cute and admired the colours of the snake, and were surprised by the very smooth texture of the snakes skin.

Musical Entertainment at The Moors
We are so fortunate to have contact with Di Hall, ex international Violin player. She has visited us on a number of occasions, calling in to play in resident’s rooms. In addition she enabled us to have a wonderful time on the Saturday before Christmas, for our mince pie and carols event, raising funds for our local friends “Dementia Forward”. Residents and their guests were able to make requests for favourite carols. We all sang along and had a wonderful Christmas time, followed by mince pies , which we had made previously.
