Special Outing for Audrey

It was a special outing for one of our resident's Audrey as it was the first time she was feeling up to going on one of our Wednesday outings. She used to go to Disley Community Centre every week for cuppa and chat and would bake cakes for everyone and help out in the kitchen. Since living in Bowerfield Court she has not been feeling well enough to make it back. We planned to have this outing for months, but last Wednesday was finally the perfect day despite the snow. She was excited to see many friends she has not seen in months.

Valentines Day Preparations at Bowerfield Court

We had a great Valentines Day at Bowerfield Court with a buffet party, cake decorating, bucks fizz and romantic films in the afternoon. Prior to the big day we had made decorations, Valentines and had special Valentines Day entertainment.

Memory Cafe at Hope Green

On the 21st February, Hope Green held their Memory Café with lots of guests including the Mayor of Macclesfield. We had an acoustic band with lots of singing and dancing, homemade cakes and games to play.

Our residents and visitors thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Cake and Coffee Morning for Howgate House Residents

Residents and families of Howgate House were invited to a community coffee morning at the local Primary School.

Four of our ladies and their daughters had a lovely morning chatting and meeting new people. Homemade cakes and biscuits that the school children had made were enjoyed with a cup of tea. Residents received a lovely thank you card with a chocolate heart on it and the children made a delicious chocolate for everyone to enjoy at Howgate House.

Music Afternoon at Howgate House

On Valentines Day Howgate House residents enjoyed a good old singalong with percussion instruments.

The shakers were homemade out of old plastic bottles with dried corn, peas and beans.

Fun afternoon enjoyed by all.

Residents at Skell Lodge Meet Annie

Easter Preparations at The Moors Care Centre

This month at The Moors Care Centre, the residents decided to take on a a new challenge, as it is Easter soon and we are getting very excited about the arrival from Incredible Eggs.  For 10 days residents will be able to watch a number of chicks hatch and take care of them. Everyone is looking forward to meeting the chicks and naming them.

Birthday Tea Party at Earsdon Grange

It’s always sad when we have to say goodbye to one of our residents but what made it more bittersweet was that George Smith had a birthday coming up.  His family contacted us after the funeral and donated some money so that George’s good friends at Earsdon Grange could have a tea party in his memory with a glass of his favourite tipple.
