World Heritage Day
Last week, we honoured World Heritage Day in our Art Club 🎨
Choosing Stonehenge as our inspiration, we used paints and cut outs to build our own Stonehenge landscapes!
Work began on Stonehenge about 5,000 years ago, but it was built in stages over many years. The stone circle dates from about 2500 BC, in the late Neolithic period
Did you know, every year, the people who maintain Stonehenge have to move the stones a few inches to the north? This realignment is necessary to ensure that the sun rises in line with the stones at least once a year.
Combining culture and history with the art is a great way to stimulate our minds with great conversation, whilst relaxing into our creativity.
