Valentines Day at Oaklands
We have welcomed a new member of the team to our Oakland’s family, Mickey Sewell has been a chef in the Army for twenty five years before joining us at Oakland's.
On Valentine’s Day we brought a bit of fine dining to our Oakland’s residents. Everyone dressed in either red or pink for the event.
The first course for the residents to enjoy was Chicken Roulade with straw carrots, ribbon courgettes and duchess potatoes.
The second course for dessert was a chocolate fondant pudding with baileys ice cream.
The residents thoroughly enjoyed the food and the plates were returned to the kitchen clean.
The food was washed down with Red and White wine or shandy.
Each resident received a Valentine card which were made by some of the residents in craft club, a red rose and some chocolates.
All residents thoroughly enjoyed the experience and comments received were wonderful.
One resident said "I really really enjoyed been treated so special" with comments from another of "I enjoyed it so much please may we have fine dining events more often". Another of our gorgeous residents commented that "the food was absolutely delicious" and "they really enjoyed being made to feel so special".
Happy Valentines from our home to yours.
