Thank You From A Family Member
To Ursa and the whole team,
Just to say a very big thank you for everything the team do for my mum, AK.
It was just over a year ago that mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia, at that time mum was struggling a little with memory but was coping with day to day activities. Mum was still working for Asda, she went regularly to Church, and she was a frequent visitor to the bingo halls. Then Covid 19 came along and closed down all of mums social activities, and due to her age she was furloughed at Asda. This had a dramatic affect on mums mental health, she become more anxious, more confused and struggled with day to day living cumulating in mum wondering from her home on many occasions.
On 4th December 2020 mum moved to Manorhey Care Home, a decision that was very hard for me to make, but one that I did make because mums health and safety was a priority.
WOW! What a difference 8 weeks have made, mum seems to be enjoying her life again, she has a smile on her face, she has a glint in her eye again, she looks like she is a mischievous girl again. Mum celebrated her 83rd birthday on the 28th of January and the activities team sent us videos and photos of the day, she was up dancing and enjoying herself, the mum we remember. I know mum is still struggling with her memory and wants to go home all the time, but your team have done and continue to do an excellent job looking after, caring for, and entertaining mum on a daily basis.
So once again, a very big thank you to the whole team for helping to look after mum.
