St Wilford's Parade
Skell Lodge residents took part in St Wilford's Parade. This event has been running since 1108 when King Henry granted permission to the city to hold a fair to mark the birth of the saint on 30th July. Ripon has held this tradition ever since.
Due to COVID things have been done a little different this year. Instead of floats travelling around Ripon the people of Ripon have been asked to decorate their gardens, houses and businesses and the people will walk the route to look at the displays. We made three boards. 1st board showing our activities sessions and a photo tour of the home. 2nd board showing the people who work in partnership with our care and the 3rd board showing all the people of Ripon who have helped us through the first couple of months of COVID. The residents have enjoyed making the boards and being part of a long standing tradition.
