Remembrance Sunday at Yohden Care Complex
Remembrance Day is upon us again and this year we celebrate the 101st anniversary. To mark this important day the activities coordinators at Yohden Care Complex Donna Parks and Jill Ramshaw decorated the lounge with the assistance of our residents with posters and home made poppies which were made during an activity. A table of remembrance was made with a newspaper, ration card and medals from the War.
Here is Ivy Barker who is 101 years old and was born two years after the first world war ended but has lots of stories from the second world war when she was a lady in her 20’s. Ivy talks about how she made some of the best friends of her life during the war years and the fun they had. We had a lovely remembrance service and reminiscence about the War days.
If anyone would like to come along and sample the Yohden hospitality, please get in touch with Donna or Jill on 0191 283 3967.
