Remembrance for Cassie

In the beginning of January residents had a small gathering of thanks to celebrate Cassie the dogs life and all that she gave to the residents here at White Rose Lodge and other homes locally. The gathering consisted of hymns including ‘all things bright and beautiful’ alongside ‘morning has broken’. Reverend Maxine Waller spoke about giving thanks to God for providing us with these animals which give us unconditional love, comfort and Joy. Prayers were said for Cassie and to Jean for allowing us to have shared joyous experiences with Cassie. The gathering finished with a reflection of animals that we have had in our lives and ultimately thanking god for the time we have shared with them. Residents shared their own fond memories of animals they had throughout their lives. Throughout the gathering there was an image of Cassie visible for all to have a visual representation of her. Also Sparky the dog came to say hello which residents have built a relationship with and enjoy his company.
