Pumpkin Carving at Bowerfield House
Bowerfield House has started decorating our home for Halloween and its looking great and very spooky, residents and staff enjoyed cutting out faces in our pumpkins. Our winner at Bowerfield House 2021 was carer Ellie. We had so much fun but it was a messy job to empty the pumpkins, we talked about what we love about pumpkins and what we can make out of them. Some of the answers were, pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies and spice pumpkin latte, there are so many foods you can make from a pumpkin, they're not just for decoration at Halloween,
The original idea of the jack o lantern was to scare away evil spirits, the Irish would set the carved pumpkins or turnips by their doors and windows in hope that they would protect them .
Bowerfield House had a great start to the week in activities.
