Proudly announcing the inaugural MMCG Carers Appreciation Day on 30th June 2021
In May, we were delighted to see so many of our homes making a special effort to celebrate International Nurses Day. It certainly was the ideal opportunity to show our nursing staff how grateful we all are for their wonderful work.
Many of our homes also observed Carers Week at the beginning of June. This annual campaign is orientated towards unpaid carers, and whilst this was an important week for many in the community, we want to take the time specifically to celebrate the 3,500 paid carers who work across the group too. That’s why we are proud to announce the inaugural MMCG Carers Appreciation Day, taking place on Wednesday 30th June.
Executive Chairman of Maria Mallaband Care Group, Phil Burgan commented:
“We are delighted to be introducing MMCG Carers Appreciation Day to give those who live and work alongside our carers the opportunity to express their gratitude for all you do. Carers play a vital role in ensuring MMCG’s homes are warm and welcoming places to live, and we are thankful for your hard work and dedication, this year as much as ever. The support and attention you give to those in our care contributes greatly to their quality of life and enables us to achieve our collective vision.”
On this, the first MMCG Carers Appreciation Day, we’ll be sending a special gift to each and every carer that they’ll receive on the day itself. This is a small token of our appreciation to acknowledge their hard work and to demonstrate our gratitude.
Those who work in the care team are kind and caring people who want a job where they can really make a difference to people’s lives. Their role is to care for those who live in our homes as if they were part of their own family, catering for their physical, psychological, and social needs.
Whilst many have joined MMCG with care experience, a number of those in our care team actually started in the business in very different roles and have chosen to shift their career path after learning more about care up close. With an industry-leading learning and development programme, MMCG is supporting more and more ambitious individuals to gain the necessary qualifications to pursue their dreams and fulfil their true vocation.
If you would like to use your care experience and people skills in an organisation that provides the best quality care you’d expect for your own loved ones, then MMCG is a rewarding place to be.
