Patisserie Masterclass - Macarons
In the spirit of France and to celebrate Bastille Day, we tried our hand at baking our own French patisserie in the form of Macarons!
Our Activity Coordinators set up their cooking trolley with the mini oven and all the necessary ingredients ready to get cooking. Each person had a copy of the recipe and had great fun directing Stanley in which steps to take. Some helped whisk the egg whites, making sure they came to stiff peaks (we did the age old ‘hold the bowl upside down’ test), while others stirred together the dry ingredients.
After waiting patiently for them to cook and then cool, we all enjoyed eating our home backing – and it really was a treat!
