Our Staff Go Above and Beyond

"We as a family think we should put pen to paper to praise the staff at Heritage Care Centre in Tooting. Bec, Desiree, Sylvana, Aminata and Melinda need a particular mention. It is one thing to drop in the occasional box of chocolates or biscuits but we feel that the difference they are making, especially during these most testing of times, deserves to be recognised fully. 

The company as a whole should also be congratulated on closing the home to visitors well before the official lockdown began. This early action, in no way small way, has helped our mum and all the other residents to be kept much safer. 

From the outset Desiree, Sylvana and Aminata have been as accommodating of our wishes as possible. Our mum's room is on the ground floor and they would angle her bed so when we looked in through the closed window we could see each other better. Obviously this had to stop for most of us after the lockdown period started. During this period Desiree has called us to update on how our mum is and, together with Verna and Elizabetta, has always been ready to tell us about her when any of us phone Heritage. 

These most caring of staff take the time to encourage our mum to eat, engage with her socially and have taken in a CD player / radio we provided to play music she enjoys to help keep her stimulated. 

It continues to be a sorrow to us that we cannot look after our mum personally, as we did for many years, but knowing that she is cared for in such a way gives us a huge sense of relief."
