Bowerfield House enjoyed celebrating National Carrot Day yesterday, one of our favourite desserts! Carrots contain a natural sweetness that just perfect for cake - many historians believe the cake originates in the Middle Ages when sugar and other sweeteners were scarce and is thought to have originated in England.
We all enjoyed a lovely slice of carrot cake with a nice cup of tea.
