Monread Farewell to our Queen
Monday was a strange day, our residents sat in silence as they watched their beloved queen's funeral, the occasional comment on the procession and how very British it is and how great we are at doing it. Some staff sat and watched with them and some tears were shed but what a farewell it was. Our residents commented on how radiant, smiley, hardworking and caring the queen was and how it will be hard shoes to fill.
We made a buffet lunch for everyone to eat after the service and decorated the tables for everyone with photos of the Queen. People got to eat:
Red and White wine
Salad, potato salad, coleslaw
chicken, ham and sliced beef platter
Miniature quiches
Hot Yorkshires filled with mine and cheese, wedges
prawn cocktail, spring rolls, crostini and pigs in blankets
Cheese and pickle, salmon, ham and egg and egg and cress sandwiches and wraps
Cheese board
Fruit salad, artic roll with berry compote and chocolate brownies.
