Live Entertainment at White Rose Lodge

White Rose Lodge continues to maintain close relationships and links with the community and we were delighted when volunteers approached us to supply the home with entertainment free of charge. At the beginning of June we were enchanted by Brigham's Charity Organ which filled the corridors with sounds from a fun fair.  Alongside well known favourites including ‘Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag’, we had residents singing along, swaying and clapping to the organ. It was a spectacular organ to observe and to listen to, which was delightful for the first source of outside entertainment since lock-down began. Which brought many a smile to residents faces and a chance to see more fellow residents since returning from self-isolation. We were then encapsulated by Ross Cole who is an ex-professional singer that now works with the Coop Funeral Care. Ross set up outside the summerhouse on the lawn where some residents gathered both in the summerhouse for warmth and some remained in the lounge but able to hear with the windows open. Ross was very charismatic and performed to the crowd many songs that were from the residents era. Residents said he was fantastic and they had enjoyed it hoping that he would come again. Ross also gathered passers-by who stopped, listened and clapped to his performance. Overall the voluntary entertainment was well received by all and we can not thank them enough for the time and enjoyment they have given the home.
