Let There Be Crumbs for Barnes Court Care Home
Barnes Court Care Home in Wycliffe Road Sunderland have had a busy month of activities and even managed a few lovely trips out before things with COVID-19 started to affect the UK. They have been to the Sunderland Empire Cinema to see Doctor Doolittle, our favour tea shop at Penshaw Tea Rooms and bowling.
On 4th March we met up with our colleagues and friends from Garden Hill, Field View and Yohden Care Complex for a morning at Let There Be Crumbs Coffee shop at the stunning Roker Hotel. We all arrived for a 10.30am start and were given a menu to choose a homemade cake and beverage of our choice and wow were the cakes gorgeous. We had a lovely morning of chatting and getting to know residents at our sister homes whilst being entertained by the brilliant Bojangles Ukulele Band singing and playing all of our favourite songs. The tea shop was packed out but we still made some room for dancing. A few of us even had our picture taken by the photographer from the Sunderland Echo newspaper and got to speak on Radio Newcastle. We do hope to go again once this is all over and meet our friends from our sister homes.
