International Flower Day

It was International flower day today and Annette, Ann, Eleanor and I enjoyed arranging some lovely flowers to put around the home. We also did some word jumbles and word searches based around flowers, there were some we had never seen before and with this we searched and learnt all about them our favourite being The Black Eyed Susan. These beautiful flowers which have a similar look to sunflowers are native to North America and are known as Pioneer plants which are the first to grow when an area has been damaged by fire or natural disasters. We really had a great time finding out about plants and flowers that aren't native to our areas and this is something we will carry on researching.
