Horticultural Heaven!
Many of the people who live at Abingdon Court are green fingered and have very fond memories of tending to their gardens and allotments back at their homes. With the weather looking less bleak we decided it was time to put on our garden gloves, grab our trowels, and get planting!
From tomatoes to cucumbers, basil to parsley (we won't get into the old age debate around coriander) there was plenty of choice when it came to which seeds to sow. Our activities team learnt quite a lot from the people living at Abingdon Court, who have a wealth of experience in the garden. We popped up an indoor greenhouse so we could start our growing inside ready to be re-potted into our garden when the weather permits. This has been a lovely addition to the home as residents are able to wander by and check on their plants. With so much expertise and so many people tending the plants we are feeling optimistic for bumper crops and subsequently are looking forward to enjoying home grown summer salads in the months to come!
