Fresh Air and Exercise
The summer sunshine has arrived early here at White Rose Lodge and what better way to enjoy it than being out in our garden which overlooks the sea. Residents were elated to have had opportunities to sit outside and soak in the sun, listen to the sounds of the sea and the echo of children playing. One resident in particular was encapsulated with the birds and was sat watching them flying and carry sticks to build a nest and listening to the chirping.
This also offered the opportunity for residents to build back up their strength and confidence in walking after an isolation period. Many described it as being therapeutic and peaceful being amongst nature. For those unable to walk independently they were offered the opportunity and support to walk or the use of the wheelchair. Therefore, they too were able to appreciate the beauty of Bridlington and White Rose Lodge. Not only for the see view but also the beautiful flowers and wildlife that comes to our garden. Whilst sat on a bench with more visibility been given by the homes maintenance man Gary, whom trimmed back the hedges, residents can enjoy a wave and a hello from passers-by. This has given the residents some form of human contact and normality to life in these uncertain times.
