Diwali Festival at Allingham House

Allingham House is an international environment where people all around the world work together giving the best of themselves to deliver the best caring assistance to our residents. For that reason, we like to include our residents on popular festivals in other countries. A perfect opportunity for the residents to enjoy different activities and learn a bit more about different traditions in other cultures.

This week the residents and the staff joined together to celebrate Diwali Festival, with many different activities. The residents enjoyed baking traditional Indian sweets and making Diyas, the traditional Indian lanterns that symbolize the triumph of the light over the dark. The residents posed very proud with their own lanterns.

Also, thanks to our receptionist Harps, our residents enjoyed a selection of delicious Traditional Indian sweets that were served with tea and coffee making a very special Diwali Afternoon Tea.
