Dementia Bus at The Westbourne

The Dementia Bus arrived at The Westbourne Care Home on Wednesday 2nd October. The training bus is kitted out with specialist equipment, offering staff and the Mayor of East Cheshire - Barry Burkhill and Mayoress Mrs Burkhill the chance to encounter first-hand what it might be like to live with dementia.

Participants are asked to carry out day-to-day tasks and activities within a simulated environment of the virtual sensory tour.

The Westbourne Care Home, in Holmes Chapel provides care for people living with dementia and are always looking for ways to enhance the residents care. The home is excited about this training experience which will further support the staff and provide further insight and understanding into dementia and learning more about the challenges people living with dementia face.
