Community Spirit in Starbeck

The residents at Belmont House Care Home were delighted to receive postcards from Starbeck Primary School and Springwater School here in Harrogate. The children had written a personal message on the back of the postcards and made our residents feel part of our caring community. Two of our residents are currently in the process of replying to the kindness shown by children and staff from both local schools.

One of the residents who received a postcard was Thelma who was delighted to receive her card from the school. She said "It is lovely to learn that the children are so concerned about us here at Belmont House". Thelma will be writing back to the children to thank them explaining how much it has helped us to appreciate the little things in life that we take for granted like the beautiful birds, butterflies, animals and flowers around us that help take our minds off the awful things happening in the world at the moment.

Thelma also wanted to say how much her morale has improved by the excellent attendance from the wonderful staff here at Belmont House and hopes that when things are all over we will be open to visitors again and she can enjoy the entertainers who come in weekly.
