Christmas Time at Bowerfield Court
The Christmas season is well under way at Bowerfield Court. We have been busy with activities, events and outings with much more to come in the weeks to follow.
Before November 23rd we decorated the home for Christmas. We put up 5 trees around the home with different themes for each. It got us all in the Christmas spirit before our big event; our annual Christmas Fair. We had a fantastic turn out at our fair with many family members and friends coming out to support Bowerfield Court for a fun filled afternoon. We had Santa’s grotto, live Christmas music, hot food and drinks, shopping stalls, raffles and a tombola. Katie and Trevor are pictured in front of one of our trees during karaoke.
This week we received our pen pal letters from our friends in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. We spent a rainy afternoon writing our letters back in Christmas cards and making small baubles to send along with our notes. We have been corresponding with the pen pals since last March and hope to continue this for as long as we can. Gary Turner is pictured with the bauble he made, his letter from his pen pal and his letter to his pen pal.
We have lots to look forward to in the coming weeks. We also have Brookside Primary School band coming in to play Christmas songs for us. Next week 11 residents are heading up to The Plaza in Stockport to watch the Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime. Christmas time is a busy, but exciting time in the home! Everyone is looking forward to the weeks to come.
