Christmas carols at White Rose Lodge from local schools

December brought with it a time for bringing people together and a feeling of warmth, joy and happiness. Over the course of December we were delighted to open our doors to students from local schools to sing carols for our residents. The students not only sang rehearsed carol songs and well known Christmas classics but also handed out Christmas cards and invited conversation by introducing themselves to residents. Some students had learned Christmas songs through Makaton and rehearsed dance actions to relate to the carols. For the residents this enabled them to revisit past memories as they remembered watching their own children perform. Looking around the room you could see residents faces filled with joy as they observed. Some singing along, others smiling and discussions after of how wonderful it was and beautifully they had sung. The students also felt benefits of coming to the home as on one occasion I had overheard students remarking they should do it more often. White Rose Lodge would like to thank again the time given from Burlington Junior School, Bay School, Headlands School and Martongate School, Thank you.
