Chip Butty Challenge

The Belvedere took part in our regional chip butty competition this week. We started off asking our residents what sort of bread they would like to have, what size chip should be on the butty, would we dress our chips in salt and vinegar, what sauces should we put on the side and finally what drink should accompany our chip butty. It was decided that we would use Tiger bloomer with thick cut chips which should have salt and vinegar put on, Tomato Ketchup, Mayonnaise and Gravy were chosen for our sauces, and the hardest part was agreeing the drink to accompany it but we eventually decided on a lovely Pot of Tea.

We prepped our potatoes in the morning which were triple cooked by our lovely chef, we prepared our table for the judges who were the lovely Cheryl from head office and Doreen one of our beautiful residents. I wasn't allowed to listen in on the voting but I'm keeping my fingers crossed we did well. Our residents enjoyed chip butties later that afternoon which they enjoyed.
