Brave the Shave
On a bright Monday morning in September, Activities Coordinator Christine Brown from Howgate House Care Home ‘Braved the Shave’ for Macmillan.
Christine roped in her colleague and friend Pam Greaves who is a Senior Carer to do the deed.
Christine has been an employee of Howgate House for 28 years and Braved the Shave as some of the residents cheered and looked on.
Christine was dedicating the shave to her daughter who lives in Perth Australia. Christine’s daughter had been treated for breast cancer and has had a double mastectomy & recovered well. Christine said "Raising money for Macmillan was a way of giving back and knowing that by fundraising I could help other people affected by cancer."
Christine raised an incredible £870 through sponsorship and even the BRI hospital radio came along to support her.
The money raised will help Macmillan continue to support those affected by cancer.
