Baking at Oaklands
Over the past few months, at Oaklands, we have concentrated on baking sweet treats but this week our residents decided that they would like to bake something savoury. Various recipes were considered and they all agreed on baking some sausage rolls. We decided what sort of pastry we should use and then what type of sausage meat to use.
Everyone agreed on Puff Pastry and Cumberland sausage. The pastry was rolled into an oblong and the sausage meat into a log sausage, they rolled the pastry around the meat and cut into bitesize pieces. They then egg washed them and placed them in the oven. They were cooked until golden brown and the results were delicious!
