Baking Club

The Belvedere baking club met again this week and we were joined by Doreen, Gillian and Annette. We found baking is an activity that allows our residents to focus on the task at hand as well as encouraging conversation and wanting to spend time in a group. We aim to meet once a week making something different each time. Every residents enjoys the baking club whether that be taking part, observing or enjoying their treats once they are baked and ready. This week we chose to make a simple chocolate cake which we really enjoyed, we baked the cake in the morning and decorated it with chocolate buttercream and fresh raspberries ready for afternoon tea. This activity involved us all working together with each of us having a different step of the recipe to complete, it also involved physical exercise when mixing our mixture which our residents took turns in doing.
