Around the World Month

This month has been filled with activities focusing on our theme of "Around the World". We have celebrated all of the continents throughout this month. 

We began July with North America. We had a Mexico day where we had fajitas and chilli con carne for dinner. In the afternoon we had a pinata. We also had Canada day bingo and we wrote to our pen pals who live in Waterloo, Ontario. 

Our Hawaii party was a huge hit! We listened to Hawaiian songs, made leis and drank pina colada's. 

For Europe some activities included make your own Belgian chocolates, French wine and cheese, Spain tile craft and make your own pizza.

As for South America, Asia and Africa we made Japanese fans, made Indian lotus lanterns and had curry, made exotic South American birds and African clay animals. 

We did a penguin toss for Antarctica and boomerangs for Australia. 

We had a social distance guitar show, made earth sun catchers, had around the world trivia, party planned and made costumes for our party. 

Tomorrow is our Around the World party. We will have face paint and glitter tattoos, everyone is dressing up and representing the country of their choice. Residents have been working hard on making their own costumes. There is live social distancing music, a buffet and a prize for best dressed. Everyone is excited and can't wait for the big day.
