Armistice Day at Field View

Field View Care Home in Blackhall held a Remembrance weekend for the residents to remember.

To celebrate Armistice Day the home held a whole host of activities which started with entertainment from Ashley Stirling singing war time songs.  Everyone in the home was tapping their feet to the tunes and singing along whilst reminiscing about the halls and dances they attended during the World War.

Ashley was a huge success and we will definitely be having her back to the home again. In the evening we watched the service on TV and then on Remembrance Sunday Bill Simkins (87) hosted Sunday tea and cake to celebrate his National Service in the Royal Air Force.

Michelle Howarth, Home Manager at Field View Care Home was delighted that the residents had a day celebrating and reminiscing about their memories of the war time.

Bill was delighted to host the service wearing his RAF blazer and the residents of Field View chatted about their memories of the War and those who were lost.
