Allingham's Jubilee Party
What a wonderful time we had at Allingham House celebrating Queen's Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee.
We wanted to make memories that last on this one lifetime celebration and for that reason residents, families, staff and members of the community joined together to create Allingham Best Wishes Tree. Everyone collaborated creating beautiful flowers in red, blue and white, writing down their best Wishes to Her Royal Highness, who looked herself very pleased with the final result as you can appreciate in the pictures. Residents, staff and families came together to have a picture under the branches of this beautiful tree full of positivity and good thoughts.
Also, the residents enjoyed this special celebration, with a traditional Street Party.
We know how important it is to get involved the members of the community in our activities, for that reason during the week we invited different members of our community to join us to the celebrations. The residents and the staff were not the only ones creating beautiful bunting to decorate our care home. Also, the children from the nursery next door joined us making a very special bunting that they gave to the residents, and it was displayed in the garden with the rest of the decoration.
Furthermore, I would like to thank all the staff for joining us to the celebrations and specially to all the kitchen staff that provided us with a selection of fresh sandwiches, cakes (macarons, scones, chocolate cakes) as well as fresh fruit and drinks for everyone to enjoy. Also, I would like to thank all the families that collaborated in the party bringing more food and sweets to make this day unforgettable Thank you all of you!!
We cannot forget another very special event that took place during the week celebrations, The Jubilee Tree Planting, residents collaborated planting a tree in our garden that will be the witness in the coming years of all the good times that residents, families staff and members of the community will enjoy in our garden, a tree that will grow up in the years to come, and it will be a witness of all the good moments that residents, families staff and members of the community will share in our garden.
Finally, during this week we explored with the residents their royal connections, and we found very interesting histories to share. One of our residents Eileen, who posed very proud with a pictures of herself, her mom and dad, visited Buckingham Palace with them of her because her father was honoured by the Queen for his 40 years of dedicating work in the Agriculture field.
She said that it was one of the best days of her life and she was very proud of her father.
