100th Birthday Celebrations
Howgate House's resident centenarian Selina Forrest celebrated her 100th birthday on 29th April. A lovely birthday party was enjoyed by staff and residents .
Selina’s family sang Happy Birthday in the homes car park observing social distancing and expressed so much love for Selina who watched from within the care home. Local musician Steven Heath came along and got very wet in the rain as he performed a medley of songs for Selina’s 100th birthday celebrations.
Morrisons kindly donated a lovely selection of party food and Butter Fingers, local bakers provided a selection of scones and cakes.
Selina was born in 1920 in Houghton Le Springs, Durham. She moved to Bradford at the age of 18 and worked in the office of the military plane factory where she met her husband. They went on to have 4 children and 8 grandchildren plus great grandchildren.
Selina moved into Howgate House Care Home in July 2018 and is a much loved member of the Howgate family.
