Troutbeck Care Home in Ilkley, held an open day on Friday 26th July to launch the opening of their new tea room for residents and their families, as well as fundraising for the local church by holding a raffle and tombola. Residents enjoyed a cupcake in the garden and making the most of the summer.
Home Manager, Charlotte Brynes said "It was a fabulous afternoon which was thoroughly enjoyed by residents staff and visitors."
The home have also been involving residents in transforming areas around the home and making features of the communal spaces. The conservatory has now got a garden theme and space for residents to sit and enjoy the scene.
The home’s activity coordinator has been engaging residents from all backgrounds in different creative activities and making featured displays to showcase their work. Another resident at the home, who has an artistic flair, has been encouraged to lead a weekly activity session with other residents at the home. The home are promoting meaningful activities and boosting wellbeing for residents.
