Our third and final contestant in the Chef of the Year competition is Julie Birch from Garden Hill Care Home who cooked a chunky vegetable soup with warm roll, beef and onion cottage pie with carrots and broccoli which were cooked to perfection and a gorgeously creamy rice pudding with home made rhubarb sauce. Glynis our resident judge at Garden Hill thoroughly enjoyed the meal and was looking forward to rice pudding next time it was on the menu. Julie's menu was inspired by cooking what the residents enjoy and asked them for feedback and they all voted for soup, cottage pie and rice pudding which took them back to their younger days when they cooked for their own families.
