A brand new care home is coming to Great Malvern
Sitting against the stunning backdrop of the Malvern Hills and nestled at the heart of the community it will serve, Windsor Court, our newest home under construction in Great Malvern, is an exciting prospect!
Not only will this £8million purpose-built home bring the five-star residential, nursing, and dementia care to Worcestershire, but like all of our homes, it will be a big part of the community too.
Because alongside 51-ensuite rooms, lounges, restaurants, and communal areas for people living in our homes, it will include a luxurious bistro and bar, hair salon, and eight-seat cinema that will be open to the community.
Our outward-looking community-focussed approach is the driving force behind the concept for Windsor Court, and we are so excited to share these wonderful facilities, not only with all the people soon to be living there, but also their family members and friends who can come in and enjoy them with their loved ones, and others too – Covid restrictions permitting.
This really will be a community within a community – and part of that wider community too, offering those people living at Windsor Court that home-from-home feeling - and much more.
Not only that but Windsor Court, which is being built on the site of Malvern Community Hospital (which closed in 2011) in Great Malvern's lovely conservation area, will also create new jobs for up to 75 members of staff, including carers, qualified nurses, and administrators – another bit of good news for the people of Great Malvern and its surroundings.
It’s still a few months away from completion, but it is set to be a stunning addition to the Maria Mallaband family. Traditionally styled, in keeping with its surroundings, the new care home will be set over three floors and set within landscaped grounds. As part of the project, the original boundary wall and a summer house in the grounds of the old hospital have been restored and retained, retaining something of the building’s heritage.
