Abingdon Court's trip to the fair

Abingdon Court took a trip to The Michaelmas Fair.

This was originally a mediaeval hiring fair for rural farmworkers to find work in the local area around Abingdon-on-Thames. As years have past, the fair has become bigger and bigger and now measures around a mile and a half in length, making it the largest street fair in Europe.

The Michaelmas Fair is remembered fondly by those that live with us, with stories being told of the fun they once had with family and friends.

Here at Abingdon Court we thought it was about time some of those that live with us got to visit the fair once again and relive those memories. A fun game of hook a duck brought out our competitive sides and had everyone laughing. With our prizes in tow we all enjoyed some candyfloss and chips on the way back home but not before we had a tour of Abingdon's historic market town which had us all reminiscing.

As you can see by the smiles on everyone's faces we truly had all the fun at the fair!
