We asked Cristina how she felt about winning her second award at the MMCG Care Awards in recent years, she said: “I couldn’t believe it when they announced me as the winner; I was completely speechless! Everyone around me celebrated, even if they didn’t know me – it just showed what a big family we are at MMCG and how everyone is happy to celebrate each other’s success, and happy to be there for each other. It really made me think about how far I've come on this journey. Looking back, it feels like yesterday when I received the ‘Care Practitioner of the Year’ award two years ago. And even before that, I was lucky enough to be a finalist for ‘Carer of the Year’. All these wonderful achievements happened at Cedar Court Care Home, a place that has become a second home to me and where my passion for this profession has blossomed. This award is incredibly humbling and reminds me of the responsibility I have to continue giving my best to those in my care, thank you!”
